No. Every photo is decoded, cropped, resized, compressed and zipped by your own browser, on your own device. No image data is sent anywhere, and there is no server here that could receive it.

That is worth caring about for a practical reason as well as a privacy one: it means the tool is as fast as your device, works on a phone with a poor connection, and cannot lose a batch to someone else's outage.

Poshmark moved cover photos from square to 3:4 portrait in March 2026, and now frames photos into portrait across search and the feed. Seller Photo Kit's Poshmark preset outputs 900 × 1200, which is 3:4 and comfortably above feed resolution.

Poshmark publishes the ratio but not a pixel target, so 900 × 1200 is our conservative figure for it rather than a number Poshmark states. You can add up to 16 photos per listing, as JPG or PNG.

Yes. Poshmark did not deprecate square, and existing square listings need no action — Poshmark keeps the original image, and shoppers see it in full when they tap into the listing. Re-cropping an old closet is optional.

There is a reason to think twice before re-shooting everything: Poshmark trialled this same change once before and reversed it after seller pushback. Square is also the shape Mercari, eBay and Depop want, so it remains the better choice if you cross-list. The legacy 1200 × 1200 preset is still in the tool for that.

Depop's browse grid is square, and the Depop preset here outputs 1280 × 1280. Depop publishes no pixel dimensions anywhere we could find, so that is a conservative read of secondary sources — those put the ideal at 1080, 1280 or 1440px, and 1280 clears every version of the advice.

A 1080 × 1350 portrait option is included for full-body and styled shots, which suit Depop's audience. The grid still crops it square, so keep the subject centred.

The Vinted preset outputs 900 × 1200, a 3:4 portrait. Vinted does not force a square crop, so a taller frame fills more of a phone screen — and because there is no forced crop, whatever ratio you upload is what buyers see.

Vinted publishes no pixel dimensions. It is widely reported to resize to roughly 1200px on the long edge, which we could not confirm first-party, but a 4000px upload certainly buys you nothing beyond upload time. You can add up to 20 photos.

Mercari's search results are a square grid, and the preset outputs 1200 × 1200. Mercari publishes no pixel dimensions, so that is our conservative figure; 1200px square is ample for a square feed card.

The limit is 12 photos, confirmed across three separate Mercari help pages. If you have read that Mercari allows 20, that is wrong. Mercari also advises natural lighting and plain backgrounds, which is what the background whitener here is for.

eBay's own words are that you should make pictures 1600 pixels on the longest side to optimise for mobile, so the eBay preset outputs 1600 × 1600 and pads rather than crops, which means nothing gets clipped. A 2000 × 2000 option is there for detail shots of texture, labels and flaws.

Two hard limits worth knowing: 500 pixels on the longest side is a floor written into eBay's picture policy, below which a listing is rejected outright, and uploads are capped at 7MB per photo — not the 12MB commonly quoted, which applies only when eBay pulls an image from a web address. You get 24 photos, the most generous of the six platforms.

Etsy sets two requirements that pull against each other: photos should be at least 2000 pixels on width and height, yet images larger than 1MB cause problems. The Etsy preset outputs 2000 × 2000 and the encoder searches for the quality that lands just under 1MB, which is the only way to satisfy both.

Your first listing photo must also be at least 635px on width and height or Etsy says the listing shows up lower in search — a ranking penalty rather than a rejection. Etsy allows 10 photos plus a video, and its search thumbnails are landscape, which is why a 4:3 preset is included for covers.

eBay allows 24, Vinted 20, Poshmark 16, Mercari 12, Etsy 10, and Depop 8. Depop's cap is enforced by its own Selling API, which rejects a ninth photo outright.

Where sources disagree we take the lower number, because preparing 12 photos for a platform that accepts 20 costs you nothing, while preparing 20 for a platform that accepts 12 wastes work at the point of listing.

Yes — bulk is the point. Drop a whole shoot in at once, anywhere on the page, and every photo is processed with the same preset and returned in a single ZIP. There is no per-photo step and no per-file limit imposed by the tool.

Yes. HEIC files straight from an iPhone camera roll are decoded and converted, so you get JPGs that every marketplace accepts without having to change a camera setting or convert them first.

The HEIC decoder is large, so it is only downloaded if you actually drop a HEIC file in. Sellers working in JPG never pay for it.

No. Phone cameras record which way up the photo is in an EXIF orientation tag rather than in the pixels, and any tool that strips that metadata without first baking the rotation into the image leaves photos sideways. This one bakes the rotation in first, then strips the metadata.

It matters more than it sounds: Poshmark, for instance, reads the orientation tag to stand your photo upright and then discards the metadata itself.

No. There is no watermark, no logo, no badge and no exported filename advertising the tool — the output is your photograph at a different size.

That is not only a courtesy. eBay's picture policy prohibits watermarks of any type, including ownership attributions, along with added borders, text and artwork. A free resizer that stamped its own name on your photos would make your listings non-compliant.

Yes, and it happens by default in the resizer — the output is re-encoded from pixels, so camera model, timestamps and GPS coordinates do not survive. There is also a dedicated EXIF and GPS remover for photos you want to strip without resizing.

The reason to care is specific: a photo taken at home can carry the coordinates of your home, and marketplace listings are public. Stripping location data before you list is the single highest-value thing on this list.

Give the compressor a target file size and it searches for the highest JPEG quality that fits, rather than applying a fixed quality setting and hoping. That is the difference between hitting Etsy's under-1MB guidance at 2000px and simply exporting at maximum quality and being rejected.

As a rule, aim just under a platform's cap rather than far below it. Handmade, vintage and designer buyers zoom into material and construction, and over-compression is visible exactly where it costs you a sale.

There is a background whitener for the common case: an almost-white sheet, wall or poster board that photographed grey. It lifts the near-white tones to white without cutting the subject out, which is what Mercari means when it advises plain backgrounds.

It is deliberately not a background remover. Cutting a subject out of a busy scene needs a machine-learning model, and a lightweight tool that pretends to do it produces halos around hair and fabric edges. If your backdrop is not already close to white, re-shoot it against paper.

None — DPI is meaningless for a photo displayed on a screen, where only the pixel dimensions matter. A 1200 × 1200 image is 1200 × 1200 whether its metadata claims 72 DPI or 300 DPI.

DPI starts to matter when something gets printed: a care card, a thank-you insert, a packaging label. That is what the DPI checker is for — it tells you the size an image can be printed at before it degrades, which is a different question from whether it is big enough to list.

Read Vinted's rules before using any editing tool, including this one. Vinted's Catalogue Rules require photos to represent the item as it is and state plainly that no image editing is allowed. Vinted also asks you to show defects.

Resizing and cropping to fit the frame is ordinary preparation. Whitening a background or retouching out marks and wear is not — so the tools here show a warning when you select Vinted, rather than letting you find that out from a removed listing.
